From the age of 12 or 13, Ricky Feather transitioned from playing football to BMX street riding. This passion allowed him creative freedom as he and his friends explored every street, car park, and school in their area, eventually traveling to most major UK cities. BMX riding fostered a sense of community and ignited his desire to travel, leading him to the USA and Europe, where he discovered a world beyond factories and building sites, filled with creative and fulfilling careers.

His travels revealed that people could make a living through art, design, and photography, and even approach manual jobs like welding creatively. This exposure inspired him to seek more than just a job to make a living; he needed an outlet for creativity and exploration. This led to the creation of Feather Cycles, merging his passion for BMX with his day job to produce high-performance bikes. Feather Cycles became his vocation, allowing him to work with a diverse range of people and draw inspiration from various creative fields.
